Ask Coach K!

Everything you need to know about private tennis lessons in Singapore

  • Short answer — I coach players across all age groups and skill levels.

Long answer — Kids: I primarily coach kids & teens aged 7–16, ranging from complete beginners learning the basics of the game to intermediate junior players competing in SPEX programmes and local tournaments.

Adults: Coaching is available for adult beginners picking up tennis for the first time, as well as intermediate players looking to refine their technique, elevate their level, and build confidence for competitive match play.

  • Yes. I'm an ITF Play Tennis Certified coach and also have experience coaching at the STA Advanced Plus programme for competitive U10 and U12 players. Whether you're a new player picking up a racket for the first time or a junior training to compete, my approach is personalised, structured, and built around your specific goals on the court.

  • Absolutely — beginners are very welcome! Starting young is actually one of the best things you can do for a child's development of coordination, discipline, and confidence. I'll make the first sessions fun and engaging, building solid fundamentals from day one so they fall in love with the game.

  • Usually, I will bring a basket of training balls to our practice sessions.

Players are encouraged to bring their own tennis racket where possible, as using familiar equipment helps with long-term development and consistency.

Beginners don't need to worry — I have rackets you can borrow for your first session for a small rental fee. As you progress, I'll help you choose the right gear that suits your playing style and budget.

  • Tennis lessons in Singapore can be conducted at your condominium tennis courts for added convenience and accessibility. Training in a familiar environment often helps players feel more comfortable and consistent during lessons.

If you do not have access to a condominium court, sessions can also be arranged at public tennis courts by ActiveSG, the Kallang Tennis Hub, or at courts around the Lorong Chuan area in Singapore’s North-East region.

  • I have access to courts at Lorong Chuan, making it a convenient base for students in the Serangoon, Bishan, and North East regions of Singapore.

For all other locations, court booking is handled by you, giving you full flexibility to use your condo court or a public court near you (bookable via the ActiveSG app). I'll bring the balls and expertise either way.

  • Singapore weather can be unpredictable! Here's how rain is handled:

    • Before the session: If we mutually decide to cancel due to rain at least 30 minutes before the session, we'll reschedule at no extra cost.

    • Rain mid-session (under 30 mins): No cost incurred — we'll reschedule the session at a time that works for both of us.

    • Rain mid-session (past 30 mins): The session is considered complete, and the full lesson fee applies.
